I'm experimenting painting in acrylics on watercolor paper. One of the concerns I have is the paper buckling so for now I'm painting small. The largest I painted so far is this Boxer dog portrait, it is 5x7 inches and to my surprise there was very little buckling, in fact much less than with painting in watercolor. And once the acrylic paint dried the paper flattened out completely.
I have another 5x7 inch portrait planned and then I'm thinking of moving up to a 8x10 inch and see how well the watercolor paper takes it. See more of my dog portraits at Pets.StyleArtc.com
