Raccoon Watercolor Painting

I painted this watercolor of a raccoon  a while ago but forgot to post it, so here it is now, better late than never I guess. It's approx. 11x14 inches and  fits a 16x20 mat which I include in the price of the watercolor paintings I sell online. This painting is a result of a pen and ink raccoon I made last year.

Original Border Collie Art

I have been experimenting painting dog portraits in different styles. This Border Collie was painted loosely in watercolor. It's a small painting that will fit an 8x10 inch mat for a 8x10 inch frame.

Baltimore Oriole Among Lilac In Watercolor

Baltimore oriole perched in Lilac tree. This could have easily have been a scene from my front yard, we have a Japanese Lilac on the front lawn which birds seem to love to perch in.

I painted an earlier version in acrylic. This watercolor differs a bit in composition, the most obvious it being in landscape orientation. I think I have more fun painting in acrylics, its faster too, painting in watercolor goes slow for me but there's not as much to clean up after its finished

Toucan Watercolor

I was browsing through my sketch book that contains doodles for art ideas and came across some toucan doodles, one of which seemed like it would make a good painting. This small watercolor is the result of that doodle.

I like painting birds but the challenge of painting toucans is their large beak seems to get in the way of making a composition, but nonetheless I like this painting enough to have started a computer version of it which I hope to post once it's finished.
